So it's been over a month since I've posted any news. Most students I know migrated south for winter break and spent a lot of time doing case practice to get ready for interviews. While the economy is certainly better than last year and internship hiring is up, many companies have not rushed back to campus for the typical on campus recruiting.
If you haven't had any luck with the on campus search don't give up quite yet. Both Exxon and Chevron are Consortium Sponsors. You can definitely reach out to Consortum Alumni just as you would school alumni in looking for opportunities. Many companies have structured MBA programs they recruit into but will recruit interns for various other roles and functions. Keep up the networking and stay positive!
I'll be busy the next couple of weeks with recruiting of my own - but will still be answering emails for those looking for some energy industry or company specific info.
